Stride Strong: Running Assessment & Strength Plan in Hove

Stride Strong is our in-depth running assessment for runners who want to take their running to the next level. We analyse your running form, strength and mobility, then build you a bespoke strength plan based on what we find.

It's designed for runners in Hove, Brighton and across East Sussex who want to run stronger, reduce their risk of injury and train with confidence, whether you're chasing a personal best, building up to your first 10k or simply want to enjoy running for longer.

You don't need to be injured to book, and you don't need to be fast. If you run, Stride Strong can help you run better.

Who is Stride Strong for?

Stride Strong suits any runner who wants to understand their body and train smarter. It's particularly helpful if you:

  • Want to run faster or further, and want to know whether your strength or technique is holding you back.

  • Are training for an event, such as a 10k, half marathon, marathon or ultra, and want to reach the start line healthy.

  • Keep getting injured, and want to find out what's behind the pattern, not just treat each flare-up.

  • Are returning to running after injury, time off or a long break and want to build back sensibly.

  • Are new to running and want to start with a strong foundation.

  • Have a niggle that hasn't stopped you running but you'd like to get ahead of it.

  • Have never done strength training and don't know where to begin.

If you're currently injured, a running physiotherapy appointment is usually the best place to start, and we can build elements of Stride Strong into your rehab.

What happens in your Stride Strong session

  1. Your running story. We ask about your running history, current training, goals, any past injuries and what's going well or not, so we can focus on what matters to you.

  2. Movement and mobility screening. We check how your body moves, including balance, single-leg control and range of motion.

  3. Strength and jump testing. We measure the key running muscles and compare them from side to side using advanced testing equipment.

  4. Running analysis. You run so we can assess your technique. We have invested in advanced technology that delves into your key running metrics so we leave no stone unturned.

  5. Explanation. We go through what we found in plain language, including your strengths and the areas to work on.

  6. Your plan. You leave with a clear idea of what to do next, and your bespoke strength plan.
